Video Summary:
In this video, I compare two powerful and highly regarded delay pedals: the Mooer Ocean Machine and the legendary Strymon Timeline. Both are packed with features, but how do they stack up side by side?
After stumbling upon the Ocean Machine in a local guitar store and being impressed enough to bring it home, I decided it was time to see how it holds up against the pedal that has become the industry standard for ambient and experimental delay—the Strymon Timeline.
To keep things fair, I matched both units using similar delay types including digital delay, tape delay, and reverse delay, and dialed in the settings as closely as possible. The test was run using my Telecaster into the front end of the Uraltone Junior amp, known for its clean tone and great pedal compatibility.
If you're considering one of these pedals or just love hearing how gear compares in real-world use, this video will give you a practical tone shootout to help make that decision. Let me know which one sounds better to your ears—do you lean toward the pristine polish of the Timeline, or the experimental vibes of the Ocean Machine?
