When you have a permanent sterilization procedure performed - and like in your case, you mentioned the tubes were cut, tied, and burned - it means that the fallopian tubes are now blocked. Or basically the road for egg and sperm to meet up is now no longer existent, and that's what prevents pregnancy. You may still be ovulating, and you're probably still having periods, because your uterine lining builds up every month, and then it's shed when you have a period, but because there's no way for the egg and sperm to meet, pregnancy can't happen. And unless that procedure can be reversed - and it is rare that it can be - then pregnancy probably isn't a possibility.
