New world record by ~0.24 seconds! There has been a lot of potential to push the world record in this game down, and competition is heating up lately between myself, Tecate, Somewes, and Scrimsion all running this game at the same time. I'm not sure about the others, but Tecate and I are going for 7:55 and probably beyond!
The time in the title does not include the ~7.5 seconds of loading time that occurs between 4-4 and 5-1. This loading time happens because this game is on the Famicom Disk System. The FDS is an attachment to the Famicom (Japanese NES) and it plays games that look like floppy disks. This game was released as "Super Mario Bros. 2" in Japan. For multiple reasons, it wasn't released outside of Japan until it came included with the Mario All Stars SNES multi game cartridge, under the name "Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels."
