And today I'm gonna tell you why Maryland has one of the worst rules along with a few other states for car accident personal injury claimants.
They have what is called the contributory negligence rule. What does that mean? In a nutshell, if you bring a personal injury claim against an at-fault driver and their insurance company; and the insurance company finds that you were even 1% negligent and contributed even the slightest to how the car accident occurred, the insurance company is obligated to pay you nothing for your car accident, personal injury claim.
That's right. You bring a personal injury claim and hoping the at-fault driver and their insurance company will pay you for your past medical bills, past lost wages and pain and suffering.
