Описание: After being discontinued for 10 years, the once famous Kimalel goat auction has now been revived. The event had been synonymous with Kenya's second president Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi and veteran politician the late Ezekiel Barngetuny who was the chief auctioneer but unfortunately died a day before its rebirth. It was a nostalgic event for Baringo residents who had the privilege to attend the annual goat auction which was started in 1986 and ended in 2002, as President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto officiated its revival. Judy Kosgei caught up with a man who attended all the 16 auctions between 1986 and 2002 as well as his son who was attending the event for the first time. Over a thousand goats and some few sheep were sold raising nearly ten million shillings at Saturday's special auction.
