Описание: In this video we point out the main absorption peaks associated with aromatic compounds. We highlight with resonance structures how the bonding inside the benzene ring is more representative of a 1.5 bond order. Using this information and the formula for the calculation of wavenumbers, we validate the observation of peaks down to 1450 cm-1. We end the video with a summary of the main IR regions to be on the look out for when determining the structure of an unknown.
