Take a walk with me and my son through Gdansk Old Town (December 1, 2025)

Описание: I am just getting started with the Insta360 x5 and still coming to terms with the editing app. I'm improving slowly but surely, but for some reason the software threw in quite a few unwanted spins! I'll figure it out and upload an improved edit in the near future!

I first visited Gdansk and Sopot Poland in March 2025 for work. I was so enamored with the place and the people, that I immediately booked a return trip to bring my wife and sons along. We traveled from Texas to Gdansk at the end of November and returned home the first week of December. Such an amazing and memorable trip!

This walk begins at our apartment that we booked with VRBO for the equivalent of $110 per night.

After exiting the building into the courtyard, we utilized a passage to the street that we dubbed "the tunnel".

Once on the street among the Christmas Market vendors, we make our way to Dluga Street, through the Golden Gate and into the main Christmas Market area.

We eventually circle back around to cross Dluga (Long) Street and proceed to Piwna (Beer) Street and into Saint Mary's Basilica, which is said to be one of the three largest (if not the largest) brick churches in the world. It is claimed that during a visit by Pope John Paul II that there were 26,000 people inside the church at one time. As temperatures were near freezing, we decided to not climb the stairs to the observation deck.

As we exit the church, we then made our way to Świętego Ducha (Holy Spirit Street), where we see The Royal Chapel before walking towards Holy Spirit Gate and the Motlowa River, passing by one of my favorite restaurants along the way. Mezalians!

At the river, we turn south, following the pirate ship as it is approaching its dock, then turn through Mariacka Gate to Mariacka Street, where there is a plethora of Amber sellers.

We then cut south to find ourselves back at Dlugi Targ (Long Market) where we see the Green Gate to the East, Neptune's Fountain, and the Old Town Hall.

From there we make our way back to the infinite staircase to our cozy apartment, which is where this video ends. Once inside the apartment, I continued to let the camera record while sticking it out the window to view the streets below. That will be my next video, whick I will upload soon!
