1. Initial Physical Standards (PST - Prelim Check)
Before the full medical checkup, candidates must meet the minimum physical standards:
Male: Height 5ft 6inches (Min), Chest 32" (Unexpanded) – 33 1/2" (Expanded).
Female: Height 5ft 2 inches (Min), No chest measurement required.
Note: Relaxation in height is applicable for specific categories like Dogras, Gorkhas, and residents of specific regions (Kashmir/Leh/Ladakh).

2. Physical Endurance Test (PET) Medical Focus
Running: 1600 meters in 6:30 mins (Male), 1000 meters in 6:30 mins (Female).
Pushups/Shot Put: 20 Pushups (Male), Shot Put 4 kgs (Female).
Goal: The medical team ensures your heart, lungs, and joints are fit enough to handle this physical stress.

3. Medical Examination Checklist (Health Checkup)
Eyesight: Good vision is required (6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in the other, without glasses).
Knock Knees & Flat Foot: Checked for in male candidates. Your knees should not touch when standing, and you must have a proper arch in the foot.

Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT): No chronic diseases, good hearing capability is required.
Dental: Teeth check to ensure they are in good condition.
Varicose Veins: Legs are inspected for varicose veins (twisted, enlarged veins).
Hernia and Hydrocele: Checked for in male candidates.
Blood Pressure/Heart Rate: Standard health checkup to ensure no underlying cardiovascular issues.
Blood & Urine Test: General tests to ensure no chronic diseases or severe infections.

4. Mental Fitness
Candidates must be of sound mind, alert, and capable of performing police duties.

5. Common Disqualifications
Obvious physical defects or deformities.
Color blindness.
