Learning to fly a drone is one thing, but learning how to fly a drone safely and legally is just as important. In this introduction to this mini-series of videos, we're going look at the legal side of flying your drone and the rules and tips you need to follow.

If you're new to drone flying, you'll want to know how to fly your drone legally and make sure you're following the rules and regulations for your country. Drones have risen hugely in popularity over the last few years and with this, thousands of hobby fliers are taking to the skies every day and more and more people are moving into the commercial side of flying drones. With this as the industry grows, regulations are continuing to be developed and changed and updated.

Drones legally need to be treated as aircraft and not just toys, remember when you're entering the airspace you are mixing with full-sized aircraft so we need to keep that in mind.

One final point to remember by flying responsibly we're going to safeguard the industry from receiving ever tighter regulations.

Remember that as the pilot you are legally responsible for the actions of your drone to do anything wrong it lies on your shoulders. This doesn't mean that you can't enjoy flying your drone it just means that you need to understand the rules properly and stick to them.
