Marc Fogel, an American school teacher originally from Butler, Penn. who was held in a prison Russia was released after three years. Fogel, who was arrested for having medical marijuana in 2021, was greeted at the White House by President Donald Trump and other politicians.
Following their initial meeting, Fogel called Trump a hero and thanked his mother. His release comes as part of negotiations between America and Russia to secure an end to the war in Ukraine, the White House said.
