Besses players took the opportunity to play at Alec Owens Graveside after a concert in Stretford Park
Besses Band was at a very low ebb at this time
Struggling for players and very low on funds
A week after this tribute a solicitors letter arrived at Besses Bandroom to inform the Band that a lifelong fan from Stoke had bequeathed 25% of his legacy to Besses which amounted to over £30.000.00
Donald Aldman was the benefactor.
A bus driver from Stoke that was a lifelong fan but had no other links with Besses
