Three government organisations have got together and made an online tool, called Smart Investor, for ordinary New Zealanders. It was launched this week. It gives you heaps of information about investing, from basic principles to comparison of KiwiSaver and non-KiwiSaver funds, and some bonds, shares and other investments. Because it's government-run, you can trust the info to be unbiased.
Mary and Jesse look at letters from listeners and how those people might use Smart Investor. The letters cover: Investing beyond term deposits; whether to pay down a mortgage or invest in KiwiSaver; saving outside KiwiSaver; and diversifying beyond KiwiSaver.
