An investigation into the communal violence in Karnataka's Hubbali revealed that rioters attempted to kill policemen. The number of accused arrested in connection with the violence has now risen to 126.
A mob of around 1,000 people tried to attack the police station in Hubli around midnight on April 16. The mob reportedly demanded action against an objectionable WhatsApp status.
