The tradition of welcoming guests with a plate of Laphet Thoke is a common thread found in the homes of Kachin, Kayah, Karen, Chin, Bamar, Mon, Rakhine, and Shan peoples alike. This tradition showcases the "Pure Goodwill" enshrined in the hearts of all our ethnic groups. Sitting together around a tea leaf salad, sharing stories regardless of race or religion, is the very foundation of unity.
Today’s "Myanmar Tea Festival" does more than promote the aroma of tea; it fosters the unity of our ethnic nationalities. Just as a plate of Laphet Thoke requires diverse ingredients to be delicious, our nation can only build a more beautiful future through the united participation of all its ethnic people.
