NEW Project – PART 4
In this part the linear rails as well as the ball screw is assembled that moves the upper table of the press up and down.
I designed a precision press that helps me to assemble robots. Pressing in bearing, pins and tightly tolerances parts in general. The static and the moving table of the press run on the same pair of linear rails to allow the lower table to be moved and fixed in a certain position and keep the top table always aligned when moving it up and down with the ball screw. The press is designed for 5kN at 12Nm on the hand crank - balancing force and speed to move up and down. The pressing tools on the top table can be exchanged easily with a spring loaded interface. To prevent bending of the ball screw, the setup can also be changed to a pulling configuration when long parts get assembled
PCBWay supported the project with custom CNC parts. Thanks again to PCBWay for helping bring this project to life!
PS: rotating tools can be swapped in as well :-)
