Minister Of State For Agriculture Assures Nigerians High Food Prices Will Soon Drop

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Aliyu Abdullahi has assured Nigerians that the Federal Government is working to address the high cost of food prices in the country. The Minister, who admitted that there is food insecurity in the country, said several programmes put in place by the Federal Government aimed at reducing prices of commodities, will soon begin to yield results. Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Statistics, NBS has announced that the headline inflation rate rose to 34.19 percent in June, 2024. The figure represents a 0.24 percent increase from the 33.95 percent recorded in May, 2024.
