Super Typhoon Fung-wong has reached the Philippines, battering the northeastern coast and forcing widespread evacuations.
The storm intensified into a super typhoon, forcing almost a million people to leave their homes.
Known locally as Uwan, Fung-wong carries sustained winds of about 185 km/h (115 mph), with gusts up to 230 km/h (143 mph).
The typhoon has caused power outages, with strong winds rocking a suspension bridge in Camaligan town on Sunday morning.
