The city of Cape Town has made major investments in expanding its law enforcement capabilities over the last year.
A goal set in 2021, to train and deploy hundreds of metro police, traffic, and other law enforcement officers, exceeded the 2000-person mark earlier this year.
More than 700 recently trained safety officers are currently being deployed across the city, taking up a number of roles.
In the latest expansion, 44 officers will enhance the Highway Safety plan along the N2 at the Cape Town International Airport.
