Pot Roast on a small boat.
Mine happens to be a Rafiki 37 sailboat.
Simple Simple and Simple
Double Dutch oven is necessary, with or without handle on top.
2-3 pound Chuck Roast
2-3 peeled carrots - rough chopped as in video
2-3 peeled potatoes of your choice - rough chopped
big ole onion
pot roast gravy mix, or
beef broth and little red wine.
Preheat oven to 325.
1. Prep veggies as in video.
2. Salt and pepper each side of roast.
3. Get Dutch oven hot with some olive oil. Sear on both sides for at least 5 minutes.
Add onions for few minutes to sauté.
4. Turn off stove top.
5. Add liquid of your choice ( make sure it is at least half way up the roast).
6. Add to oven and cook for about 1.5 hours.
7. Remove and add other veggies. If you do add a sweet potato, wait till later to add. Mine was a little too soft for the 1st time. Also add any other spices you want. Not alot.
8. Cook for another hour or until done.
9. Add water as needed.
Thats it. Let stand some and then dig in.
