🔷Enriqueta Gallinat🔷

Enriqueta Gallinat was born in Barcelona, ​​in the Raval neighborhood on July 9, 1909. At the age of 12, she began studying at the Institute of Women's Culture, where she obtained the title of professor of shorthand typing, where she was a militant of the Republican Left. of Catalonia since 1931 and fought for the rights of women. In 1934 she married Enrique Tubau.
In 1936 when the Spanish civil war began, Enriqueta and other women from different parties and organizations created the Union of women of Catalonia, at the same time also working as the secretary of the mayor of Barcelona Hilari Salvadó y Castillo. In 1939, she went into exile in France to help Catalan and Spanish fugitives escaping from the Nazi occupation. In 1943 she learned that she was on a list of Jews to be deported to the Nazi camps and decided to return to Barcelona, ​​when the Francoist police arrived, they arrested her and took her to the Les Corts Women's Prison, when they left as the She believed that they were monitoring the regime, but she continued to collaborate with the ERC clandestinely.
At the time of democracy, she was a member of the Executive Council and of the National Council Table, she was also secretary of the Rights of the Person and of the Secretariat of Women and Municipal Councilor of the Eixample District and executive member of the Catalan Institute of the Woman.
In 1997 she was at the foundation of the Association Las Mujeres del 36 and in 2002 she was awarded the Barcelona Medal of Honor. She died on July 13, 2006.
