With her dark, expressive voice she’s been compared to jazz icons such as Nina Simone and Billie Holiday. Now, the sea-subject inspires a new collection of songs that, besides soul, carry with them a lot of salt and sensuality: “Mermaid Blues” is the title of Y’akoto’s new, third album.
