Public Defenders Deserve Your Respect- Start Giving It.

Описание: If you have applied for a public defender then you need help. Disrespecting your assigned public defender does nothing for your cause. Questioning their abilities, calling them public pretenders is disrespectful and not appreciated. They have been assigned to help you. You should be cheering them on, giving them confidence, and being kind to them. They are trying to help you.

My experience today at the court house put a bad taste in my mouth. I can choose who I represent, I make the call. I have represented people with an attitude and have asked them to adjust the attitude. Most do because they understand that I am helping them. Last year, I had a client that failed to heed the warning. After much work I was able to convince his prosecutor to place this person in diversion. Toward the end he messed up and got re-arrested. He was kicked out of diversion. He would be nice and then he would be condescending. I tried and tried to work with him but ultimately had to withdraw. He gave everyone at attitude including the judge and from what I read online he went to jail. Karma.

Now the public defender is in a different position because they are assigned. They are in effect ordered to represent you. The only time I have seen the public defender's office withdraw from a case is when they have a conflict wherein they represented the victim of co-defendant.

Treating other with respect is important. See Romans 12:10 ESV Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Respect and honor have lost their way in our society. We all need to learn from the bible. Love one another.

I am not sure what this assigned public defender will do to handle the criminal case but I believe he will give effort. If you want help, be kind. That is the best advice.
