Cycling Slovenia : Mangart climb from Bovec town - Road cycling on the highest road in Slovenia

Описание: We are back cycling in Slovenia. This is the climb of Mangart saddle starting from Bovec town. Cycling Mangart has to be on your cycling bucket list. It is one of the most beautiful cycling climbs in the world. Mangart is the highest paved road in Slovenia reaching 2.072m of altitude.
This is a cycling heaven: many hairpins, steep slopes, 5 tunnels, amazing landscapes, beautiful mountains. If you ever travel to Slovenia you have to cycle to Mangart.
Cycling is verry popular in Slovenia and you will see many cyclists on the way up: road bikes, mountain bikes and also lots of e-bikes. Everyone is welcome here.
The route up to Mangart saddle starts in Bovec town and it takes you 25km to reach the top. The first 10km are quite easy ride on the valley of the river Koritnica. Once you reach the village of Log Pod, Mangart climb becomes more serious business with slopes from 8% to 15%. There will be 15% in total of hard cycling climb but the views and the landscape will make you forget about the effort.

Cycling in Slovenia is a beautiful thing. The Julian Alps and especially Mangart road are quite impressive. You can also ride a beautiful cycling loop climbing also Vrsic Pass. It's on a lower altitude but also verry nice.
