“Invasive Mussel Science”
Join us as we visit the ISC’s laboratory to talk about zebra and quagga mussels. We’ll be analyzing water samples for the presence of these species, considered invasive to the Great Lakes, and learning about how citizen scientists are helping the ISC track and manage their presence in local waters.

Note for teachers: Roadtrip programs will be presented with a level of language that is accessible for all grades and offer a real-world connection to the Ontario Science and Technology curriculum at many grade levels. The themes explored in this session may be most relevant for grades 6-9.
The [Great] Lakes Roadtrip is presented by the Toronto Zoo’s Great Lakes Program (GLP) and Turtle Island Conservation (TIC).
