Описание: Is artificial turf sustainable? Motz is commited to reducing landfill waste. We partnered with Mariemont High School for a "zero waste intiative", where we removed and replaced the synthetic turf field and filled in only 1 dumpster. Majority of material was recycled for the 2nd lifecycle. While synthetic turf field has a lot of advantages, including higher performance and lower maintenance, around every 10 years the field needs to be replaced, and the materials end up at a landfill. Motz believes it can solve this problem by responsibly removing, replacing and redirecting the product away from the landfill into a more sustainable outlet. Motz has a long history of innovation, and we're now rising to meet the challenge for more sustainable synthetic turf fields.

There are 3 main components on the Mariemont High School's fields that make the reuse possible:
1) Envirofill as the infill of choice for the field - Envirofill can be easily removed and reused for a 2nd lifecycle
2) A recycled, bonded rubber pad - it can serve for at least 2-3 lifecycles
3) Turf that can be rolled up without the infill, sent back, shredded up, and made into a new pad. One field of removed turf equals one field of recycled pad.

Benefits of a zero waste project:
🍃 Nearly every aspect can be recycled, including the old turf, new turf waste, supersacks, and pallets
🍃 Materials can be upcycled into products for a new turf field (shock pads | nailer boards)
🍃 Reduces number of dumpsters used from a project by 95%
