In the 30's California's largest College sent out buyers all across the country to acquire as many stones as they could gather especially from Washington and Oregon. In fact as of 2019 the state of Washington and Oregon claims to have found 6 official Meteorites in each state, while California documents 257 meteorites found, the largest in any US state.
