With United Public Workers encompassing over 12,000 members throughout the state and across a variety of positions and departments, we want to introduce your fellow UPW brothers and sisters and share how they support our local communities.
In this first installment we are proud to feature Raquel Silvernail who is a Paramedic with Honolulu EMS. She has been a Paramedic for the past 2 years and has worked for Honolulu EMS for 5 years. While it's difficult to describe what a typical day is as a paramedic, Raquel explains what her team does on a daily basis and how her job not only helps the patients they treat, but also helps her as well.
Stay tuned as we will be featuring many more UPW members from each division, including a Zookeeper in Hilo, a custodian working at the top of Mauna Kea, and a member helping to provide safe and affordable housing for families in need on Kauai.
