It's my first contract as a second mate, so I feel excited and a bit nervous at the same time.
In this video I shared a day in my life at port, from preparing my passage plan to doing cargo operation at morning time.
I find that a second mate's job is so much different than a thirdmate. First, it's much more quiet on my watch as it's everyone's sleeping time. Second, I feel more responsible about my job, and more confident about making decisions. Third, I feel much more motivated to be more. I think to myself, if I can become a second mate, then one day, maybe I can become a chief mate also. :) Let's see what the future hold. 💛
