Having returned to Kiel, Germany from Jan and Tracey's MSC Preziosa Baltic Sea cruise, we stay onboard for our second MSC cruise of the Norwegian fjords. After a day at sea, we visit the Norwegian city of Bergen.
Despite the weather forecast predicting clouds and potentially rain, we venture into the city to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Bryggen, as well as Bergenhus Fortress and the 13th century Mariakirken or in English, St. Mary's Church.
Of course, no visit to Bergen should be considered complete unless you have taken the Fløibanen (or funicular railway) up 844 meters to the top of Mount Fløyen to view the city.
