Again we mine the riches found on Electric Jive. Here is an instrumental mbaqanga number from Alfred Mtabhane Ndiba called "Droë Blare" (Afrikaans for: Dry Leaves), written by Tom Vuma. As Electic Jive noticed, most tracks are pretty much "stripped down instrumental mbaqanga samples - electric guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and sometimes accordion - just waiting for a trio of singers and saxophones to fill it all out". This, plus the fact that most of the music on this album has either English or Afrikaans names, begs the question -- was this an effort to reach the white South African market? One might never know the answer, but this is nevertheless is a serious effort. On some tracks, if you close your eyes, you might as well imagine that you are listening to Nico Carstens :)
