Earlier Mamta Banerjee has asked all the opposition parties to come together and fight against BJP in the upcoming presidential #election. Congress also appealed to all the opposition parties to keep differences aside and come together. The Election Commission of India announced the presidential election on July 18. The counting of votes will take place on July 21. India's next President will take oath on July 25.
A total 4,809 members of the electoral college comprising MPs and MLAs will elect the successor to incumbent President Ram Nath Kovind.
