The Midnight Society Looks At A24's "The Blackcoat's Daughter" (2015)

The Midnight Society returns on Sunday, July 20th as we are returning to the land that is A24. We have covered a pair of A24 films in the past in "The Monster" and "Saint Maud" and felt it was waaaaay overdue to chat about another A24 gem in 2015's "The Blackcoat's Daughter" which features not only a terrific cast led by Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka but also marks Osgood Perkin's directing debut of a story he also wrote.
While the film made less then 40,000 at the box office,it started to gain traction and notice from horror fans who started watching it on cable and realized just how haunting and twisted "The Blackcoat's Daughter" truly was. As the film's cult status grew,so did Perkin's career as Hollywood start looking and wondering what else Perkins had up his sleeves....
