Описание: Courtesy of Vaquero Kidd, the second video of the series demonstrating a turret press, specifically a Lee Classic Turret Press. This press is “auto indexing” and integrates a case activated Lee powder measure really well. This press has proven to be popular, providing greater efficiency than a single stage at a lower cost than a progressive press. The Lee Classic Turret (choose this over the “Value Turret” or other Lee turret presses) is less expensive than most of the other brands’ single stage presses.

The single stage video showed the assembly of a .38 Special round; this video shows .45 Colt but the steps are identical for just about every straight wall pistol cartridge.

Vaquero Kidd chose to decap, clean and deprime his cases before running them through the press. Alternatively one could run a fired case through the turret press, depriming it between sizing (1st die) and powder charging (2nd die). Lee sells a “Safety Prime” attachment that will prime the case in the press, or you can remove the case, prime it and put it back into the press.

A turret press can also be operated like a single stage press by using only one die. Pull the indexing rod out and the turret does not rotate. Run one case at a time through a single die to learn the operation. It’s like riding your first bicycle in the driveway with training wheels.
