At least two people have been killed and dozens of people are missing after Super Typhoon Ragasa battered Taiwan.
The category 5 system is the most powerful storm to hit the region so far in 2025.
600 millimetres of rain has fallen in some areas and a barrier lake burst its banks in eastern Taiwan.
The storm is forecast to hit southern China, triggering the most severe typhoon warning in Hong Kong.
The National Taiwan University’s Professor Kuo Hung-Chi says the intensity of storms hitting the region has been increasing over the past decade.
