If you want to make it wider or narrower, you can do so by taking off or adding on chains at the beginning. Just make sure to keep your total number of chains in multiples of 2+5 to work with the pattern. For example, to make it narrower, you could do 2x98 plus 5, which equals 201 chains.


I used cotton yarn in the tutorial. You can use whatever worsted weight yarn you’d like for this shawl. You could even use a lighter weight yarn, just keep in mind that you might need to add on more chains at the beginning to accommodate the size change in yarn. Please follow the care instructions on the label of your yarn as cotton yarn can shrink if not washed properly. For the fringe, I placed it on the side of EVERY OTHER row for the gray shawl in the tutorial.
