Can building a deck really change your entire space?

In this video, I take on the biggest transformation at the rainforest cabin yet - ripping out old bricks and building a huge hardwood deck from scratch. With help from Glenn, Kendall, and two very committed supervisors (Leo and Oie), we worked through heat, late nights, concrete mixes, and decking board puzzles to make it happen.

From sketchy corners to satisfying final screws, this project turned the front of the cabin into a completely new space. It’s now my favorite place in the house - a space to sit, reflect, and just enjoy the beauty around me. I also talk a bit about the past year, personal growth, and how moments like this remind me why I started building this off-grid dream in the first place.
