Thank you all for being so patient, I've been moving over the last couple of weeks, so it's been harder to keep up with videos along with teaching along with packing/unpacking!
Here is a pretty detailed video on how I do and don't use a grid and how I simplify the grid to sketch in my layouts. I use a simplified grid, or structural lines, ALL THE TIME as I'm first building a drawing. I hope you can really use this method for your own drawings!
