I wrote this song many years ago, when I was about twenty.
Back then, it was mostly played at home, only from time to time.
The original lyrics were more extended, but over the years, I simplified and reshaped them.
I was inspired by the understated lyricism of Chet Baker.
While the lyrics changed, the core of the song remained the same — a soft, jazzy lullaby, intimate and unhurried.

Soft rain begins, I drift to sleep,
Morpheus holds me, warm and deep.
Time slips out on a quiet sea,
The rain moves slow and carries me.
I step somewhere I never name,
Where wind plays notes in moonlit frame.
Shadows move with gentle light,
The rain leads me into the night.
I can swim, I can walk the sea,
Or float where nothing asks of me.
Reason rests, the world turns light,
In Morpheus’ arms, I fade to night.
