♪L'Écho de la Lune Blanche♪
La lune brûle comme un soleil froid,
éclairant les ruines d’une ville brisée♪
Ici, les épées brillent encore de la fureur passée,
et chaque note de piano est un pas dans le vide♪
The Lonely Ascent♪
The arrangement is a haunting, atmospheric piano composition shaped by its profound sense of isolation. It opens with sustained, high‑pitched chime tones and long, echoing notes that carve out an airy, empty soundscape. Into this void steps the piano — its strokes powerful yet fragile, solemn yet searching, as if feeling its way through darkness.
The melody moves with a
quiet determination, navigating the musical terrain like someone trying to map an unfamiliar world. In its final moments, the piece becomes a cyclical struggle: fleeting, reaching high notes intertwine with deep, exhausted lows, as though the piano is trapped in an endless attempt to ascend and pierce through its own mystery.
The Legacy of Simon♪
The perspective lifts toward a full moon so luminous and pure white against the deep blue sky that it mimics the intensity of the sun — a celestial chiaroscuro suspended above the ruins. Beneath this cold brilliance, a tiny kaleidoscope‑colored aurora shimmers softly, while countless rocks float frozen in time, casting long shadows across the dusty night.
We now Stand amid the rubble of Old Lumière, surrounded by mounds of brick and the skeletal remains of a once‑thriving city center. In the foreground rises a colossal, golden‑hued sword embedded in the earth. It glows from within, swirling like a lantern forged for war.
This is no stray relic. It is one of the legendary blades wielded by the Expeditioner Simon to slay The Hauler — a giant Axon created by Renoir Dessendre in the image of his daughter, Clea. Forged from pure Chroma, these swords remain as silent, radiant monuments to a failed strategy of the past: weapons meant to break barriers that now only illuminate the ruins they could not save.
The Catastrophic Show‑Off
The Expeditioners pause to strategize, their path blocked by twisted buildings. Verso, ever the provocateur, gestures toward Monoco: “All right, show off a bit, Monoco.”
Eager to prove himself — and outshine Verso’s bravado — Monoco fires back, “Just admit you can’t do it yourself,” before transforming into a Stalact.
With overflowing swagger, he slams down… but with far too much force. The entire city block collapses, scattering the group in a cloud of dust and devastation. Verso’s exasperated “PUTAIN! Monoco!” echoes through the ruins.
When Lune and Sciel recover, they find Monoco in tears, overwhelmed by guilt. His innocence trembles in his voice: “Sorry. I fucked up. I just wanted to show off.”
Lune’s frustration softens as Sciel steps in with steady leadership: “We just have to regroup… Verso said the heart is in the center of Old Lumière, right?”
With a gentle tap on Monoco’s shoulder, Lune signals the march forward. Monoco rises, leaving his self‑pity behind, and follows them into the uncharted heart of the city — proof that even mistakes can propel a journey onward.
