Placing a strong emphasis upon the doorway release part is important, as the dog will usually rip out of the home into the garden barking in the process and then the situation is lost or hard to regain calm. Thankfully, barking in the garden can easily be addressed with the right approach as set out in the video combined with time and patience.

If your dog behaves in this way, spend a full week or two addressing this behaviour each day and you should see a marked reduction if not a cessation of this behaviour for good. Ongoing supervision in the garden may be required until you feel that the behaviour has stopped for good.

Barking in the garden can be disruptive for you and your neighbours, not to mention that it can leave your dog in a mildly stressed state as it expends energy on something that is repetitive.
