Dalai Lama visits Mongolia, keen to meet Trump

Описание: (23 Nov 2016) The Dalai Lama said Wednesday that he looked forward to seeing US President-elect Donald Trump in the United States next year.
Speaking at a news conference in Ulaanbaatar shortly before his departure from the Mongolian capital, the Tibetan spiritual leader responded to a question from the Associated Press about growing social divisions following Trump's election.
He described the US as "the leading nation of the free world", saying the president-elect will have to "work according (to) reality".
He also said the world must focus on using renewable sources of energy, following the end of the COP22 Climate Summit in Marrakesh.
The Dalai Lama began his four-day visit to the land-locked central Asian country on 18 November, during which he met with thousands of Mongolian worshippers.
The spiritual leader has been based in India since fleeing Tibet during an abortive uprising against Chinese rule in 1959.
His trip could have repercussions for Mongolia's relationship with China, which protested previous visits by the Dalai Lama by briefly closing its border in 2002 and temporarily cancelling flights from Beijing in 2006.
