In this first video of the Jetprime Memjet Evo power module, we fitted it to a water cooled 2016 model BMW R1200GS. The unit was fitted as part of an overall combination with a high performance Sprint Filter P037 and the SC Project Adventure muffler. Everything else on the ‘triple black’ version of this bike remained as standard.
Fitting the module to the BMW R1200GS is very easy, though the IAT sensor is located differently for liquid cooled and air cooled models.
AIR COOLED - the IAT Sensor is located on the left side of the fuel tank
LIQUID COOLED - the IAT Sensor is located on the right side of the fuel tank
In the video that follows we’ll conduct a ride test to see what difference we can notice.
What is a Jetprime Memjet Evo power module?
The Memjet Evo power module is designed to improve the performance of motorcycles fitted with fuel injection systems. The module works together with sensors already found on the bike changing the output values so that fuel management is more performance oriented with the advantage that a rider will not require a remapping.
By using the stock electronics, the unit is designed to help us get the best performance out of the bike without compromising the integrity of the engine.
How does a Jetprime Memjet Evo power module work?
The power module works in conjunction with the air temperature sensor. The module is fitted in line with the air temperature sensor. As such it interrupts and changes the signal being sent to the stock ECU of the bike which adapts the carburation through various injection and anticipation times. As Jetprime says on their website, “this [approach] is a guarantee that the stock ECU will never increase the power and torque performances with values which will damage the engine. “
