YouTuber Paras is back home in Ludhiana in Punjab and has posted his first instagram picture, post his release.
Of course, a lot of his bhais and behens commenting below have advised him to be more careful the next time he puts out a video - something I am sure Paras would have realised very well by now.
After all, the YouTuber has just come back from almost a month-long stay at the Julie Jail in Arunachal Pradesh. But the Paras singh case is still not over
So how and when did Paras get bail and what all happened with him while he was in Arunachal Pradesh?
Last Friday, A court in Itanagar finally granted bail to Paras who was arrested last month for making a racial comments, targetting an Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninog Erring.
The court allowed Paras Singh bail on the execution of a personal bond of 10,000 rupees and a set of other conditions- and this includes not permitting him to leave the country.
The YouTuber was also asked to stay away from interfering with the investigation process.
Public prosecutor Rotom Vijay said, "The bail was granted to Paras as the investigation was almost over and all necessary statements were recorded by the police during his time in judicial custody here.
But let me tell you, Paras being granted bail does not mean that the case against him is closed...He added that the trial would continue after the submission of the charge sheet.
Paras Singh would have to come back to Arunachal Pradesh for the hearings of the case whenever the court summons him.
But it's not like Paras only had punishment and no party in Arunachal Pradesh. Paras's stay in the jail and the whole process of his reformation was quite interesting, thoughtful and trust me, it had its share of fun too.
Apart from receiving history, geography and culture lessons on Arunachal Pradesh, the young Youtuber also learned to party - Arunachalee style. Ofcours, Nobody expected to find Paras enjoying himself in the company of a few Arunachal Pradesh people after making racist and disparaging remarks about them but there you have it...Paras Singh enjoying some drinks and chakna along with the people from the state - as per a report in the North Eastern daily The Sentinal.
The article read, "Despite the disrespectful statements made about their motherland, the Arunachalee people's amusing gesture towards the Youtuber speaks much about the ideals of fraternity and tolerance."
In fact in an interview to a local North eastern channel Paras said he even had bamboo ki sabzi which he liked so much that he wanted to pack one for the road. He said , of course, initially people were mad at him but later they warmed up to him and some even invited him home.
Paras Singh, who goes by the name 'Paras Official' on YouTube, had in one of his videos termed senior Congress MLA Ninong Ering "a non-Indian" and "Arunachal Pradesh, a part of China". Ninong Ering, who had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking him to stop the relaunch of PUBG Battlegrounds Mobile India, is also a former Lok Sabha member, and had reasoned that the game was aimed at deceiving the Indian government and citizens and hence should be banned in the country.
Paras Singh, who was arrested from Ludhiana in Punjab, had revealed that the controversial video was made by him to gain widespread attention and views so that his monetary income on Youtube could be maximised.
According to police, the YouTuber was enraged after reading the letter sent by MLA Ering, seeking a ban on PUBG, as banning the online game would have meant a loss in income for him.
But now, Paras is back home and says he wants to stop playing PUBG altogether and make a detailed videos on the people, food and the culture of Arunchal Pradesh. In fact he even said that MLA Ninong Erring had come to meet him personally in the Jail but due to the rising COVID 19 cases he wasn't able to meet him personally.
Ninong Erring later met him through video conferencing.
Paras who is fresh from his varied experience in North East now wants to be an advocate of the famous North Eastern hospitality and warmth. In the first video on his channel after his arrest Paras said his mother is extremely unwell and said he will be going back to Arunachal Pradesh to make some postive videos on the state.
Meanwhile, the other YouTubers GTX Preet and 420 gaming who made similar racist commments against people of North East are yet to be brought to book.
If you ask me personally, what the Arunachal Pradesh judicial system and police did was truly reformatory rather than focussing only on the punishment, which is a good productive way of bringing about the change in the society.
