U.S. President Donald Trump is imposing 25 per cent tariffs on all foreign steel and aluminum imports beginning March 4 "without exceptions or exemptions." Jackson Proskow explains what could be behind it and whether this announcement means tariffs on other Canadian exports to the U.S. are off the table.
Trump's impending steel import tariffs will hit Ontario especially hard, where about half of Canada's steel production facilities are located. As Caryn Lieberman reports, while Ontario's steel manufacturers went through similar pain during Trump's first term, it doesn't make the new tariffs any less nerve-wracking.
