2004-2011 Volvo S40 FMVSS 208 Unbelted Full-Overlap Crash Test (Test #2 - Pass)

FMVSS 208 Compliance: Pass**

This 2005 Volvo S40 still carries the affected labels, but passes the previously failed performance section of FMVSS 208.
**Test Failure:
FMVSS 208 S4.5.1(f)(2)(viii) – Information on how to contact the vehicle manufacturer
concerning modifications for persons with disabilities that may affect the advanced air bag
system is not provided. Volvo reported that future owner’s manual would be updated to include
this information in mid-May of 2005.

In this test, the driver's seat back lock released, allowing the vertical portion of the seat and dummy to be moved fully upright. Though this didn't affect the injury levels or performance, it was an anomaly found.
