China to start Taiwan integration if pro-Beijing candidate wins: Analyst

During an interview with Taiwan News, Nikakhtar said if a pro-China candidate wins the election, Beijing will be emboldended to launch its integration plan for Taiwan and tighten its grip on key supply chains, but if the Democratic Progresive Party (DPP) candidate Lai Ching-te (賴清德) emerges as the victor, Beijing could ramp up economic retaliatiory measures against Taiwan and the U.S.
