Prof. D. Sessler discusses nociception during anaesthesia. He talks us through the underlying need to achieve adequate doses of analgesia while avoiding excessive administration of opioids. Prof. Sessler explains how NOL works in order to detect and quantify nociception, following up with clinical evidence demonstrating how NOL outperforms other clinical indications (HR, PPG, SPI) at measuring nociception.
Prof. Sessler is Founder and Director of the Outcomes Research Consortium - the world’s largest clinical anaesthesia research group, and is currently the Michael Cudahy Professor and Chair of the Department of Outcomes Research at Cleveland Clinic. Prof. Sessler is a member of Medasense’s advisory board.
