The first in a series of fitness compilations to show how you can achieve warrior fitness outdoors, using tools and equipment that a Warrior of old would have been able to access.
We found a sizeable log and logged on!
Most exercises were performed for between 30secs to a minute or as many reps as poss with power - no slow lifts!
Theres some great ab and core work in there, always with a functional and explosive power basis. Mixed in a few big lifts a strength endurance. The best thing about using a log is the imbalance and awkwardness makes you use muscles you never knew you had but all vital for functional power and performance.
There some stuff in there for deltoid power as warriors of any field need a balance of explosive power and endurance for repeated use in the shoulders and traps.
Best of all, the session makes you feel like a proper bad ass viking heathen dark ages warrior ulfhednar!
