On 6th February 2026, Uganda marks 45 years of Tarehe Sita, commemorating the historic struggle that laid the foundation for the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and secured national unity, stability, and peace.
This year’s celebrations are held under the theme:
“Defending the gains of the revolution and honouring the sacrifices of the freedom fighters: A call for national unity, peace and socio-economic transformation.”
