This route formally ran between Perry Barr & Hamstead Village and Handsworth Wood - Hamstead Village &/or Gorse Farm Via Handsworth & Browns Green.
This route has a lot of history that loads have not noticed and in reality it is scenically and visually wonderful!
EXTRA HISTORY: This route has run alongside routes 54 and 61 for a very long time, 61 specifically having one of the best histories out of any bus in the West Midlands. (61 Perry Barr - Bearwood Via French Walls & Smethwick, Perry Barr - Handsworth Via Handsworth Wood, Great Barr - West Bromwich Via The Hawthorns Stn Perry Barr & Hamstead, and then finally Perry Barr - West Bromwich Via Handsworth Wood & Europa Village.
